I have been using Minimalist AHA BHA PHA Peeling Solution for 3 months. I’m quite satisfied with the result of this face peel. In this review, I’ll also compare minimalist AHA BHA PHA Peel with The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. Science behind this product:
Unlike physical exfoliators (scrubs, brushes, etc.) commonly used in facials, this gentle yet powerful 32% AHA/PHA/BHA chemical exfoliant trio promotes cell turnover and clear pores without causing micro-tears or damaging the skin’s natural barrier. 25% AHA (Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid) delivers superficial peeling by dissolving away the dead skin cells present in the upper skin layer, revealing a bright even skin tone.
5% PHA not just exfoliates but also doubles up as humectant and moisturiser. Because of its larger molecule size compared to Glycolic acid (molecular weight 178 vs. 76 for Glycolic acid), it penetrates the skin slowly, hence offering lesser irritation. Further, PHAs are proven to provide up to 50% protection against UV radiation, hence they provide conditioning effects to skin without increasing sensitivity to UV light.
Lastly, 2% BHA (Salicylic acid) unclog pores by breaking bonds formed by dead cells and flushing out skin debris & oils, giving you the much-desired matt look.

how to use:
- Use PM, once per week. Apply a thick layer to cleansed, dry skin (avoid eye area) and leave for 10 minutes before rinsing off using lukewarm water.
- Increase to twice per week if your skin can tolerate it.
- Use of sunscreen (SPF 30 or above ) is a must when using this peel.
packaging of the product:
It has an outer cardboard box in which all the product related details are mentioned. Inside of it there is another cardboard box . Inside of the second box, there is a glass bottle with a dropper. All the details are also mentioned on the back of the bottle. I received the product in a dark colour glass bottle. However, I have seen on the internet that many people received translucent glass bottles. So, probably the brand has two different types of packaging. You need to be careful while handling the product because the glass bottle might break if it falls from your hand. The product does not leak. Overall, the packaging is good.
my experience with minimalist 25% AHA+5% PHA+ 2% BHA peeling solution:
One thing that I want to mention is that if you are allergic to aloe vera then this product may not suit your skin because it has aloe vera in it. Do not use this product during the day time.
The first time I applied the peel solution on my face, I felt a mild tingling sensation around my nose area. But the sensation was bearable and it did not last long. However, when next time I used it on my skin, I did not feel any tingling sensation. My skin is not too sensitive. My friend has sensitive skin. I applied it on her face. The product did not cause burn, rash or redness on her face. I would always suggest you to do a patch test before applying it on your face. Minimalist AHA PHA BHA Peeling Solution is yellow in colour and it easily spreads on skin. The peeling solution would not strain your face with yellow colour.
After 10 minutes, I washed my face with lukewarm water. On the internet, I have seen many people say that from the very first use they saw instant glow on their faces. But, that was not the case for me. After I washed my face, my face looked nothing special or renewed. My skin was looking soft. But, the fun part happened on the next day. Next day my skin was glowing and it was looking clear.
Second time when I used the peeling solution on my skin, my whiteheads were gone. I am really happy that I ultimately got rid of my whiteheads. I have tan. It also helps me to get rid of my tan and it makes skin even toned. My 80% tan was gone after one month of usage of the product. The peeling solution certainly smoothens my skin surface. It also helps me to get rid of tiny bumps and acne. After using this product I do not need to go for a facial. I have not seen any purging effect on my skin after using it. But everyone’s skin is different so you might notice the purging effect on your skin.
After washing your face do not use too many chemical based skin care products. This is my personal suggestion. After washing the face I normally apply aloe vera gel or papaya gel. It helps to moisturize my skin after chemical exfoliation.
If you are in a hurry and you need to attend a party then Minimalist AHA PHA BHA Peeling Solution is a perfect solution for you. You only need 10 minutes to get beautiful and glowing skin. The effect of this exfoliation lasts for 3 days on my skin. Finally, I can say I am in love with this product.

The Ordrinary one has 30% AHA and 2% BHA. Minimalist one has 25% AHA+ 5% PHA+ 2% BHA. 25% AHA is more than enough to exfoliate skin. PHAs can help hydrate skin and boost skin cell regeneration, which helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. So, it’s good that Minimalist has added PHA in the formulation of the product. The Ordinary one has Tasmannia Lanceolata Fruit extract. This fruit extract helps to relieve itching and burning sensation. Minimalist one has turmeric root extract. We all know the benefits of turmeric. So, overall both of these products have their own benefits. Some people feel an excessive burning sensation after applying the ordinary peeling solution. So, I would suggest doing a patch test before applying on the face.
The result of the ordinary peel is much faster because it has 30% AHA. It instantly brightens skin and makes skin glowy. But do not underestimate the minimalist one. Minimalist one also makes skin brighter, soft. It fades acne marks and tan. Both of these products help to control breakouts. Minimalist one is milder on skin. Minimalist one is easily available in India. If you want to try the Ordinary one you can get it from international website and amazon.
