Fruit Pigmented DIY Lipstick From Blackberry, Raspberry, Cherry, Beetroot & Bixa orellana

Life is incomplete without lipsticks or little lip stains. Right?. At least for me, I always require a little bit of lip tint on my lip to enhance my lip color and to add an extra glow to my face. Using conventional lipsticks gives me extra stress about the chemicals, animal fats, etc used in those lipsticks. This chemical can damage your lip and skin near the lip and sometimes we accidentally eat those chemical lipsticks. Some of those lipsticks contain carcinogenic chemicals.

So the only option left for me was using natural lipsticks made from fruit. In this article, I’ll tell you about 100% pure Fruit Pigmented Lipsticks. Also, I’ll show you how to make different types of Fruit Lipsticks from different natural ingredients such as fruit extracts, essential oil, butter, etc.

Quick Procedure:

  •  3-4 Tablespoon coconut oil / 3-4 teaspoon
  •  1 Tablespoon beewax pastilles / 1 teaspoon
  •  1 Tablespoon Shea butter or Cocoa Butter / 1 teaspoon
  •  5-6 drops of Essential oil / 2 drops
  • A few drops Vitamin E oil
  •  Fruit extract powder for color ( for more intense color more extract)
  1. Heat the coconut oil, bee wax, and shea butter/cocoa butter in a glass jar placed in a hot water simmering pot (double boiler). Make sure that the glass jar is not coming with direct touch with the hot water.
  2. Stir the mixture until it melts evenly.
  3. Then remove the glass jar from the heat and add other ingredients.
  4. Add a few drops of Vitamin e oil.
  5. Then add a few drops of essential oil (Lavender oil) or other oil or flavoring agents but make sure the flavor you use is in oil form of it, not water form.
  6. Finally, add the fruit extract powder you like for color.
  7. Mix it thoroughly and pour it into a small container or in an old lipstick container.
  8. Store it in the Fridge and the lipstick will get its firm structure.

Now make your own lipsticks. The process is very easy and full of fun. All you need some natural ingredients:

Conditioners- (Shea butter or cocoa butter):

Shea butter is rich in Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) and antioxidants. Vitamin A and E protect our lips from environmental pollutants and also reduce free radicals and prevents discoloration and pigmentation of lips. It also gives you protection from UV Rays.EFA such as oleic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid heal your dry and make it smooth and silky with regular usage.

It enhances collagen production that reduces undesirable lines of lips.

Hardness and glossy effect on lipstick: (Bee wax):

It is a very popular lip moisturizing agent.it heals your dry and chapped lips and makes your lip smoother and crack free.

Using Beeswax gives your lipstick a firm texture so that it stays on your lips for a longer time. Bee Wax also has some antibacterial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Essential oil as a Flavoring agent (optional): Lavender oil -

It has an excellent anti-aging effect and also prevents peeling of lips. It also imparts a very soothing and calming scent to the lipstick.

You can also use other edible flavors like different candy flavors, edible food flavors.

Antioxidants (vitamin E oil):

vitamin e is an excellent antioxidant. It will prevent the oxidation process and preserve lipstick for a long time.

Blending agent (Coconut oil):

The moisturizing ability of coconut oil is unbeatable. It is also very healthy of using coconut oil in lipsticks as it has antibacterial properties in it. Excessive smoking, lip licking, sun exposure make our lips dry and chapped. Coconut oil heals the outer layer of lips. Thus adding coconut oil makes your lipstick sit flawlessly on your lips and hides all undesirable cracks.

Natural fruit coloring extract:

For natural fruit color, we will use those fruits that give amazing pigmentation such as pomegranates, Raspberry, Bixa Orellana Seeds (lipstick fruit seeds).

We can buy evaporated fruit juice powder and can directly mix it with the shea butter. It will impart color to the lipstick. Or we can make dehydrated fruit color powder by our own. Some homemade fruit color making processes are as follows.
